School Bells Ring, Again' On August 21, DeRidder's high school students departed from their places of residence to attend the first day of school. Like most schools across the nation, it was mass confusion. Seniors sending freshmen to the most remote places, the freshmen, not knowing where they were, became emotional when an older student tried to help them. There was not any major changes in the rules with the exception that if you drove a car to school, a paper had to be notarized. This gave the administra- tion the right to search your car. Jamboree Lands Mighty ragons Ist Victory The mighty Dragons began the football action for the 1978 season with a victory over Many at Leesvilee's Jamboree. Since this was the team's first game, they seemed to have a little trouble getting it all together. By the second half, they had organized themselves and were back on their feet in Dragon tradition.
