Q T hHullu,x-YLNPXI: Edwin assists third grade students at Carver as they prepare for a play. I 1 Thirty-seven students in grades 10-12 participated in the gifted program during the 1978-79 school year. These students spent one hour per week in group sessions studying values, creativity, self awareness, communication, and other enrichment topics. Most of the students also spent two hours per week participating in a community action project. Some tutored small children or assisted teachers, some worked at the parish library, and others helped in offices. Mitch, Angel, and Lisa gain first hand knowledge of how a library operates. Donald assists a youngster with her mathematics. The highlight of the year was a trip to Dallas to see the Pompeii A.D. '79 exhibit consisting of art treasure and relics from the city of Pompeii.
