f IBA IL IL nfl S4 Softball Team: Front Row-Angela Hubbard, Susie Hickman, Mary Graham, Marion Johnson, Janet Scallon, Terri Higdon, Nancy Hulquist, Rose Simmons Second Row-Coach Jimmy Carpenter, Kimmie Cole, Treasure Thomas, Kim Barmore, Kelly Jantz, Karen Branch, Sherri Brooks, Karen Hoeting, Elizabeth Brown, Lydia Brewer Softball Marks Second Year! This is the second year that DeRidder High School has had a girls' softball team. There are ten returning players from last year's team. They are Kim Barmore, Sherry Broocks, Sherry Branch, Karen Branch, Susie Hickman, Nancy Hulquist, Jenny I Hubbard, Janet Scallon, Marion Johnson, and Tonya Spikes. A tournament was held here in DeRidder on March 17 and was hosted by the Lady Dragons. Sam Houston took first place, with Rayne finishing second and Buckeye third. Barbe, Peabody, Leesville, and LaGrange participated in the tournament, also. Coach Jimmy Carpenter and Joe Sowells lead the Lady Dragons with a record of 6-7 at the time of publication.
