The 1979 tennis team had a strong season. There were five returning players from last year's team. The team played their first match with the Leesville High School team and won with a score of ll-3. They also had victorious wins over LaGrange, Oakdale, and Barbe. The team placed first at the McNeese Play Day on April 7. At the time of publication, the District Tournament was scheduled for April 25-27 and the State Tournament May 4-5.
