Class 0f $81! Mews me- EVn a WlRugHw By the end of Orientation Week, most freshmen thought that calling it Confusion Week would be more appropriate. The week began on Sunday August 28, with hurried unloading of cars. introductions to people who were soon to become great friends. an orientation for parents and students on East College lawn, a long, hot walk to the president's house and reception, and finally seeing the family off and being on ones own. For freshmen women that evening was a brief breathing space; time to begin organizing the room and learn the names of other girls on the floor. For freshmen men participating in Rush the first series of parties was that night. The week became progressively more hectic, with Rush starting for many freshmen women. and continuing for men. There were F.S.A. meetings, more orientation, and the confusion culminated with registration day and the frustrations of having to rearrange schedules when classes became filled. It took most of the week to learn where the main buildings of the campus were. Most people still were not sure of the names of all the living units. and their locations. However, the week finally ended. As confusing and hectic as it was. when it was all over the frosh felt very much a part of DePauw. It was as if they had been here for months. . I3
