The calm becomes isolation I S O L A T I O N ......... days, mixers, house dances . . . classes. What? Never been to one two three exams. . . Oh, My God, not yet, I haven't cracked a book, book, book, go into finals cold, sure it get's cold in Indiana where you can vote, just don't get caught, you might get arrested. But still the cold is comforting, you hope it will freeze the rain so the ground will be covered with snow instead of mud and squishey wet brown leaves. But sometimes it seems that all you could ever want is right here at DePauw, a cup of hot cocoa in the Hub with a bridge game or just a little time to be alone to study. Perhaps it is perhaps. But there are four years to relax here . . . doing whatever you can find to do. 9

Calm, calm. The air is calm and there is a freshness about the campus and no one is worried about grades, or finals, or anything, and the trees. have greengreen leaves, and it's the FIRST week of school and everyone is ready to study. once they've greeted everyone else. And the upperclassmen have nothing to do. But there's rush, standing in line for hoursf?J and orientation What was that meeting? and Excuse me . . I'm a freshman, and could you tell me . .
