As a sophomore, it becomes a dreamea fog-filled wonderland where danc- ing dark-haired girls guide the way down the Champs Elysees and where Melina Mecurils carry you ceremoniously through narrow lta- lian streets. As a junior, the dream is no longer surrounded by fogeyou are there. The first glimpse is often dis- appointing. Just because you are thousands of miles away from home does not mean that the atmosphere of London will not be polluted, or that the afternoon rain of Madrid will not be wet, or that the sunset over Capri will be prettier than the one over Indiana. The months pass quickly. There are good times, bad times. There are moments when life's dark spots turn lucid and oth- ers when all is black. The senior reflects. For some, the reality of study abroad must be obscurred again by that ro- mantic fog. For others, the reality remains and with it a new perspec- tive on life. 28
