XX'ill the long dinner in the dorm ever end Concurrent with orientation and testing during that Crazy first week at sehool was rush. Open houses were sandwiched in between tests, dorm meet- ings, and registration. The rushees then made their selections for the following parties. Fraternities gave bids on Saturday, and those who aceepted moved into the house that afternoon to begin their lives as lowly pledges. For the girls it was different-the tension increased through four-and then two-party nights until the preferences were signed and the bid lists turned in. Although some decided to wait until spring rush, about two hundred women appeared on campus wearing ribbons of their sorority's color. p ush . to pledge or not I0 pledge .
