STANDINh ON THE CORNER - Nothing escapes DePauw men in their pursuit of higher education. The Registration Burden Proved Tedious . . . and agreeing, administrators established a new system Besieged by an unexpected blast of icy wind and rain7 students waited long hours to register for the fall semester. Despite the inclement beginning, classes started with balmy weather that stretched late into November. Realizing the prob- lems that occurred under the old system, the administration started a new, shorter system of registration second semester that proved much more effective. AUTOGRAPH SEEKER h Each time he has to change his schedule the freshman must get the signatures of his professors. 20 Derby Dtly DERBY DAY MEN WITH PULL h Showing the ropes to the Fresh, a delegation of Sophomore men determine how long the iirhinesi, will wear their pots. Starting with a snake chain, AW S and KTK brought living units to the East College lawn for events which in- cluded a tug of war: a Charleston contest7 an egg toss, T P rolling: a suitcase race, greased pig chase and the ever- popular legs contest for men and women. Kappa-MHA won first place honors while Alpha Phi-Delta Chi and Alpha Chi-Sigma Nu tied for second. Alpha Gam-ATO finished third in the close race for trophies.
