BOARD OF TRUSTEES SHAPES DPU POLICY DePauw Unix'ersity s charter provides for a Board of Trustees to direct the school. The board is primarily concerned with the business interests of the college hut it is also responsible for the selection of faculty and administration members. The trustees make the final decisions on all major university problems. The membership of the hoard never exceeds 48 and each member is selected to serve a three vear term. The Indiana conference of the Methodist church elects 30 members, the DePauw alumni choose four. and the others are elected by the trustees upon recommenda- tion by the university president. The hoard meets three times a year: Old Gold day, in Feliruarv. and commencement weekend. Because a large majority of the hoard mem- bers are chosen hv the hfiethodist conference. and since such a majoritv actuallv controls the policies of the school. DePauw is known as a lNIethodist university. 'fnp Razr-: Rev. Allen B. Rice, H. Foster Cllippinger Lloyd BI. Cline. LeGrand Cannon. Rev. Samuel L. Yoder, Rev. George Francis. Blaine E. Kirkpatrick.
