Membership in Delta M a Delta is a symbol of sig- nzficant accomplishment and quality of work. It is also a symbol sought by employer representatives who annually visit campuses to recruit the best and brightest graduates for careers in business. F urther- more, membership in Delta M u Delta is a life-long honor. The network of valuable business contacts and personal relationships established during active membership cannot be measured solely in economic terms, but are more than enough to last a lifetime. And, of course, Delta M u Delta is a member of the National Association of College Honor Societies. The E ta Chapter of De Paul University is over I 400 strong in members since its founding in 1954. To qualify, one must complete half the degree require- ments for a BS. in Commerce or M.B.A. with an overall grade point average of 3.5 for undergrad- 20 uates and 3.6 for graduate students. Students are notified in the spring quarter of the year in which they qualify of their eligibility for membership, and an open house is held in their hon- or to welcome them and answer questions regarding the organization, their induction, and opportunities for leadership activities within the group. The annual Induction Banquet and ceremony is one of the major events of the fall academic season at De Paul University. Local chapters often attend the De Paul ceremony as guests of our Eta Chapter: Finally, it is the tradition of Eta Chapter of Delta M a Delta to select the one or two students from each graduating class whose achievement go far beyond the realm of academia. To these individuals who have also distinguished themselves in their personal, professional, civic and religious activities, in addi- tion to excellence in their university course-work, the Eta Chapter awards its highest honor e The Silver Medallion Award.
