St. Vincent de Paul, the Apostle of Charity, founded both the Vincentian Fathers and the Daugh- ters of Charity in'France during the seventeenth cen- tury. Throughout his life he was the outstanding figure in France because of his sanctity, humility, love of poverty, and his devotion to the poor. Today he is known as the Universal Patron of Charity. Realizing that his life has been a great inspira- tion to us, we fondly dedicate this Annual to St. Vincent de Paul in commemoration of the tercenten- ary ot his death. IN MEMGRIAM Few men so able were as dedicated to family, friends and young men as was Mr. Tony Tracey. More than anything, he believed in athletics as a prime factor in building strong minds and hearts in youth. The guidance of boys into proper avenues through sports was his vocation. The success he achieved is marked by the legion of those who knew and re- spected him. Mr Tony Tracey and son Jimmy at Alumni Hall. The annual staff, in coniunction with the other student organiza- tions, congratulate the Reverend Comerford J. O'lvialley on the twenty-fifth anniversary of his com- ing to De Paul and his fifteenth year as president ot the University. tio-and e in ix ,i k Q If .Z The student body of De Paul Academy extends its congratula tions and best wishes to Albert Cardinal Meyer on his elevation to the College of Cardinals 'mmf- .-2' .A-Nh s V 351 ,I 2? bf Q 3 pi' of h ADMINISTRATION De Paul Academy is conducted by fhe Priesfs of The Congregation of The Mission, commonIy called Vincenfian Fafhers, a reaching and mission- ary community founded by Sf, Vincent cle Paul. Once again the Annual calls your attention to those De Paul graduates who have chosen to devote their lives to the Priesthood. These pages give you a picture of St. Mary of the Barrens, the Vincentian maior seminary at Perryville, Missouri. We include them in the yearbook as another indication that a De Paul education prepares a man for any profession or calling. XA Q, .' N ff' W. , Q N ,S Ns it my Q if ' 'g, ,E V :Is ' .
