REV WILLIAM A RYAN CM AM The add1t1on of Father Wnllnam Ryan to the De Paul academv faculty xn 1945 proved to be an event of great moment nn the annals of the school Father Ryan went on from hrs orrglnal teachmg asslgn ment to become Pr1nc1pal of De Paul academy 1n September of 1947 The presence of an educator of the calnber of Father Ryan as admmxstrator w1ll always prove to be an msprratnon to the faculty and students of any school Thls was of course true of De Paul It has been sard that the true leader IS also an able follower In followrng the precepts of St Vnncent De Paul m his deallngs vuth parents students and faculty Father Ryan proved hrmself a capable admrred and respected leader The departure of Father Wrllram Ryan and hrs new dutles as Presldent of The Semmary at Cape Glrardeau IS necessarnly a loss to De Paul but we have been fortunate lndeed to have had hrm w1th us as guxde and lnspnratlon for even so short a txme Father Ryan may your future efforts rn the name of Samt Vxncent De Paul be blessed wrth the success of your mrssron here and aided by prayers to Our Mother offered on your behalf by that whrch IS a part of you De Paul Y . . , . ., . . .. ,. .
