Fen! wick was on top ot the North Section, and they also had a forward wall much heavier than De Paul, The start ot the game saw a change in the backtield, with Gene Chess starting at halfback, Gene proved his worth in the backtield with several good sprints one to the three yard line ot Fenwick. The boys from Oak Park led at the halt 32 to O, but the Demons stopped them a little in the second hall. With the Demons in posses! sion of the ball most ol the last halt, Dick Neveux and Herm Peterson attempted quite a tew passes tor De Paul but to no avail. 1 , . . After holding Trinity, the Demons were forced back deep into their own territory. Dick Neveux's punt was blocked on the l7 yard line. The boys from Division street quickly took advantage of this and, after repeated attempts, finally scored with Matt Metzen going over from the two. They converted and led by a 7-U score at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter saw the Demons' passing attack click for two touchdowns. Aguila took one from Neveux on the five and tallied after two attempts through the center failed. Bob Schaeffer booted the extra point to tie the score. After Scyweczyk recovered a Trinity fumble, Neveux tossed to Bernie Behrendt for the second touch- down. The try for extra point was blocked, and the Demons were in front l3-7 at half. The second half was nip and tuck with another of Dc Pauls punts blocked, which set up Matt Metzen's second tally around cnd The Demons came back strong after this, but time ran out and Dc Paul was on the trailing end of a l9-l3 score.
