classes and rncrdentally rebukes offenders has been the object of much lrrendly crrtrcrsm among the student body Mr s Prper has been servrng De Paul students rn the capacrty of Accoun ant for two years now Prevrously assocrated wrth De Paul she cannot be consrdered a new comer Through her oblrgmg manner rn dealrng wrth students Mrss Prper has become a srncere frrend to us all Father Ioseph Brennan has shown that a profes or can teach mathema rcs and strll remarn popular ln hrs two years at De Paul he has become one of the most ardent followers of athletrcs among the faculty Hrs rngenrous method ol teachrng and hrs perpetual smrle go together to make up one ot the most popular teachers In the future years we hope to see Fr Brennan occupyrng an ever rncreasrngly popular posrtron at De Paul Although Fr Drlrberto has taught at De Paul for only two years he has become one of the most popular faculty members Hrs genral personalrty has enabled hrm to acqurre many frrends studies rn economrcs though he also teaches Hrstory and Enalrsh The Academy Chorr rs under the expert drrectron of Mr R F Taylor for the second consecutrve year He took up the posrtron last year after the term had already begun We owe the rmproved srngrng rn church on Frrday mornrngs and the hne concerts grven durrng the year to hrs caretul and precrse coachrng There have been several De Paul students who have gone on to become teachers and ultrmately return to De Paul rn the drrvers seat Fr W Krrschten rs an Academy alumnus Though he has been here for a comparatrvely short trme Father Krrschten has been elevated to the popular group f Academy rnstructors Hrs consrderatron of student problems rn Englrsh and Relrgron classes whrch h teaches has garned for hrm the respect of many boys Mr 'l' Iustus drrects the bands of both the Academy and the Unrversrty The frrm but smrlrng manner rn which he handles the boys of the band has grven De Paul a polrshed musrcal group whrch supplres those peppy marches at our football and basketball games Hrs band could be heard almost every week durrng the college basketball season performrng at the Chrcago Stadrurn supportrng De Paul Unrversrty as a Chaplarn rn a New Orleans hosprtal and as an assrstant at a church rn Perryvrlle Mrssourr belore arrrvrng at De Paul thrs year He was very popular wrth hrs students because ot hrs pleasant This he did in a splendid manner, working long and hard hours with the players in order to correct their mistakes, and instructing them in the finer points of the game. Forced to install an entirely new system of offen- sive play with only two weeks of practice before the opening game and with numerous in1ur1es to key players through the season his true wortn cannot be 1udged by the bare record alone Coach lenks also laid the foundation for future teams by giving many underclassmen vitally necessary game experience .mu Y!!!
