Two new faces in the faculty this were Mrs. Ray and Mr. Parrish. “Pack the Place” night proved to be successful, as over 800 people filled the gym for Homecoming ’89 to see the Eagles defeat the Saybrook-Arrowsmith Comanches. Rick Zurak, sportscaster for WAND news, interviewed three of our varsity basketball players and Coach Parrish for coverage on the news. The varsity basket- ball team had a prosperous season with a winning record, the first in ten years. The volleyball team also had a winning record and won the Consolation Championship in the Bomber Classic. Lifesavers’ provided a Lock-In, attende d by more than half of the high school students. Between studying and ex- tra-curricular activities — it’s hard to define “Wast- ed Time!” Favorite song: “Pour Some Sugar On Me” By: Def Leppard Favorite group: Guns N’ Roses Sports event of the year: Illinois mens’ basketball team ranked 1 National news event of the year: Presidential election Bush vs. Dukakis 3 STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council has supported many activities this year, including the Volleyball Bonfire, the Homecoming Dance, Valen- tine’s Day Dance, and Pack the Place Night. Throughout the year we saw students move in and out, had our school’s “debut” on the news, met new people through the co-op sports program, and all in all made the best of all situa- tions. We hope this yearbook helps you recall all the good times. We wish to extend our thanks to Mrs. Atteberry and the en- tire yearbook staff. We enjoyed working with all of you.
