Pom-Pon Girls Get “Boogie Fever” With new uniforms and new ideas, the pom-pon squad kicked into the 1979-80 season on a good note. Profits made from a stand at the DeLand Homecoming and Send a Friend a Flower Day helped in the purchase of the new uniforms. Many of the new ideas came from five of the girls who attended summer camp. The girls worked under the leadership of Shelly Edwards. Much time was spent by each member of the squad in making and practicing routines for basketball games. Shelly Edwards — Captain FRONT ROW: Annie Langley.
