Eagles Win Scott King Darrell Carr Roger Twist The Eagles started off the season with several goals to achieve . One that was most important was to get as many scalps for the 50 point club . They held 20 of their 27 opponents to 50 points or less. This defensive pride enabled them to held opponents to an average of 50 . 3 points a game which was the BEST defensive team ef- fort in all the Champaign - Urbana and Decatur area. They also broke the school defensive record twice- holding an opponent to just 20 points . The goals were to win the Tolono Xmas Tournament , The Eagle Classic, 20 games, the Sangamon Valley Con- ference, the Regional, and the Sectional. They accom- plished four of their goals and 2nd in another. Next year ' s team goals will be exactly the same with at least the Su- per Sectional step as one of the additional goals . With this year ' s Varsity breaking the ice and Laying the groundwork , they want to continue to improve their re- cord and travel to the Sectional and Super Sectional . Thanks to a dedicated , hardworking group of basketball players, the Varsity ended up 21-6, Frosh-Soph 12-6, and the Frosh 4-0. This was a year that will not be for- gotten for many a year.
