I use the word “sampling because only a small por- tion of your education can be shown by pictures and words. Many, many things happen in the classroom and outside of school that are educational. By putting all of your experiences together, each of you receive an education. What is the value of an education? Playwright Thornton Wilder says: “Education is the bridge man crosses from the self- endorsed, self-favoring life, into the consciousness of the entire community of mankind. Each student builds his own bridge. What each student does with his education depends on his “consciousness of the community of mankind.
