MOLLER Dedication The steps from childhood to adolescence to young adulthood have been long and hard, but at last our goal has been reached. One day soon we shall take our places in society and play the role of citizens. To prepare us for this role we have been offered the advantage of an excellent education. In our day and time an adult is judged in part for those qualities of integrity, character and citizenship which he or she possesses; and by having those qualities, respect is gained and maintained. Our new school with its superior educational facilities has definitely aided in our quest for these qualities of good character. For all of the advantages which we have received, we owe a great debt of gratitude. It is with love and humility that we, the Eagle Staff, dedicate this book to the PARENTS of the students of Deland-Weldon High School. ;, V; 'v. -• I DeLand- Weldon High School Ilf Superintendent s Message Your request for some tips on the days ahead, pleased me no end. I'm not going to give you a lot of advice on what your life work should be or whether or not you should go on to college. But it may be possible to make a few suggestions that could be helpful. First, make a careful inventory of what you now have - your likes, dislikes, skills and interests. Second, if one door closes, pull open another door. Third, keep digging for information. Fourth, apply what you have learned. Fifth, keep growing mentally. So, in closing, may I further suggest that there are many doors which will lead to a full, wonderful life. The knob on these doors is always on your side. YOU must do the opening. Sincere congratulations on your coming graduation. O. H. WISTHUFF MARIE WHITE Unit Secretary O. H. WISTHUFF Unit Superintendent Principal s Message Your home, school, and community assist and encourage you, but your own efforts determine how well-educated you become. Fortunately, our democratic way of life makes it possible for all of you to obtain an education. What lies behind and before you are insignificant when compared with what lies within you. Have faith in yourself! Seniors - congratulations, good luck, and best wishes. DENZIL HALCOM Uli Board of Education We, the members of the Board of Education, want the Deland-Weldon Unit Schools to move forward with today's educational program developing well-rounded individuals, maintaining high standards of citizenship. To do so requires the cooperation of pupils, teachers, administration, parents and members of the Board of Education. It is one of our duties as a school board to develop this cooperation among the before-mentioned groups. The school board is not only confronted with the task of running the school of today, but must look forward to the needs of the future. It is our duty, therefore, to plan far enough in advance so that the ones who take our places will not find a lack of facilities and provisions to take care of immediate needs.
