The seven bashful beginners included: Ronnie Jones, Joyce Lovelace, Dixie Prather, Donna Fredrlcks, Francis Hurst, Cleta Martin and Sharon Murphy The class stayed the same until Billy Wllson joined us in the third grade The classes went along pretty smoothly with most of the same faces until our sixth year when our class really boomed with five new students coming to join us They were Davy Crockett, Jackie Grable, Gary Osborn, Joyce Blakely and Rachel Loubey The Sandra joined The grade, Rasco, seventh year we were feeling pretty big We gained three more m mbers Ballard, Eleanor Lamar, and Beverly Rasco The eighth year we were by John Sights and Leona Kiger big date had finally come, we were going to graduate from the eighth feeling kind of proud losing only five members John Sights, Beverly Francis Hurst, Joyce Blakely and Rachel Loubey The rest reached what we thought an important milestone In 1953 we wanted to feel big having a lot bigger class than we ever had in grade school Twenty one sounded big to us, just one member leaving us, Jackie Grable and gaining Thelma Queen, Telma Rrakes, Ronnie Matthews, Kenny and Jerry Park r, Shirley Jones, Bob Rule, Darle Watson, Dickie Snyder and toward the last of the year Martha George Our sponsor being Lois Scott and our queen candidate Joyce Lovelace, we ended a supposedly successful year Sophomore year coming up and just lost two members all year, Leona entered wedlock and Martha moved to join the people at Benton We came out ahead though, for we gained Mary Cline, Callie Schuchman and Elgie Highlander, having a 1 point lead. Our sophomore queen candidate was Leona Klger and our sponsor was Loren Workman Another school term came to a close Our Junior year came and we thought a lot depended on us This year five members Kenny and Jerry, Darle, Bob all droppin , and Callie marrying Just two memb rs came to take thelr place Donna Johnson and Fred Peters Our sponsor, Darrel Sperry, helped us select our play, BOARDIH HOUSE R ACH which was presented on March 16 The tlme had also come for us to put some glitter on our fingers Our rings were queen candidate, Dixie Prather, honor oi being basketball queen ordered and were we glad to get them Our really made us Ieel proud by receiving the of 'SS S6 ' Next, our banquet took place, which was held at Maples Tea Room, May Mtn The theme was Tropicana, and we Now all the first grade, except brancis, are hopin to walk up the aisle together T1is year we really got ahe d losing just Dickie Snyder and comin to finish with us were teve Culver, Ronnle Dittemore and Carol Betts Jur queen candidates were Joyce Lovelace and Sandra Ballard Joyce obtained the crown for the year H56 57 We want to thank our sponsors nary fbernathy and wilber Powell for their work with us this year we hone our play l1E ADRVOUS WRBCK turns out to be a success also Tnus COnClUGlH the linal chapter ol o r his ory, we would like at this time to thank all the people who have made it possible for us to get this lar There will b many memories THB may never be Iorgotten at dear old DHS 0 O X A A w . He was married to the former Miss but unfortunately the marriage lasted only a few years. He's still a woman up the coast to Las Vegas, Nevada it seems the former Telma Wrakes is very interested in the person on stage. Low and behold its her husband, Walter Keith, making his night club debute. Getting back close to home, we stop by Weston, and who's this in the little white-frame house on Maple Street. well if its not Donna Johnson, now Mrs. Bill Dorsey, and her husband Donna works as a Private Secretary to Earl Robinson. In her spare time she takes care of Jim, Ronnie, Blair. and Don, her fwrsmm. Next stop, De Kalb, and we were welcomed by the former Donna Sue Fredricks, now Mrs. Clifford Wake. Their triplets are sure doing well. Back in the old school building we are surprised to see the new history teacher, Fred Peters. Fred has a lot of trouble with two of his history students. They are the grandsons of Mr. Earl Robinson. Ronnie Jones seems happy in school at De Kalb after attending Maryville to become a coach. He is now keeping the shot charts for the team. Mrs. wilson, the former Sharon Mu1phy, is now secretary to the President of one of the leading firms in St. Joseph. Her three little boys are getting along nicely from the mumps.
