A f'NN- 'if' 1: f--:og -5 9 v ',g lb Y I 7 K K S In 1952 thirty one bashful kids started to high school We were not officially accepted until after we were initiated by the seniors Those coming from Rushville were Lois Blake, larcia Cunningham, Donna Andrews, Charles Reynolds, Ronald Stuart, Forrest Carter, John Smith, Eddie Browning and Benny Lawrence Margaret Boyer came from Halls and those from 'dear old DeKalbn were Orvena Frakes, Janet Rumpf, Carol Matthews, Martha Cline, Almeda Ruark, Rosalie Hiatt, Stanley Morris, Marvin Reese, Larry Linville, David Blakely, Bill Crockett, Jackie and Charles Robinson, Ronnie Guinn, Claudie Grable, Dewayne Kuhr nert and Clark Sprake Nina Baubllt came from Bethel After a week of slaving for the seniors, they gave us a party here It the school Marvin Reese and Betty Hurst received a prize for being the best sports Later the same year with Mrs Mary Cabiness as our sponsor we had a party of our own This was also at the school We played games, played basketball, saw a movie and most important we ate In that year Carol Matthews was chosen as our candidate for basketball queen Before the year was over we were saddened by the loss of several classmates Lois Blake and Donna Andrews both got married Margaret Boyer, Jackie and Charles Robinson and Charles Reynolds dropped As we began our sophmore year we gained Larry Owens and Jerry Conn from Sugar Lake as new members Parting from us were David Blakely, John Smith, Claudia Grable and Benny Lawrence Nina Baublit took the venture into matrimony Martha Cline was compelled to go to Faucett because of consolidation The last of the year Mark George came to us from King City Our candidate for basketball queen was Rosalie Hiatt and our par danced, saw a movie and again we ate we started our junior year Alberta Lockhart from Pickett and Clinton Nowak from Faucett joined us Mark George left us to go to Benton thought we were getting pretty important this year because it depended on us whether or not the seniors had a banquet At times we really had them worried We worked real hard in the concession stand during home games We also put on a play, 'Lunatice At Large' in which I'm sure everyone remembers Clinton Nowak and his hilarious laugh Our proudest moments this year came when we ordered our rings and received them a little bit after Christmas Our banquet was a real success It was held at the Moila Temple on May 6th We were entertained by Ronald Chastine, a magician from Lafayette As juniors we had a party in which we all went roller skating at Skateland Mr Wright sponsored us through the trials of the junior year Orvena Frakes was our queen candidate The last year is here and for some unknown reason we haven't lost anyone or no one has joined us The old standbys who toughed out all twelve years here are Betty Hurst, Janet Rumpf and Rosalie Hiatt Now the time has come for us to leave the portals of 'dear old D H S with 'moments to remember We hope we leave it in much better condition than we found it and our wish is that the under classmen carry on in fine spirit all the traditions we started I O cf 4- I I . 6859 1 fx ty was held at the school again with Mr. Scott as our sponsor, We - As . we . it w 0 I ln V li V

Q dass P o lzecy As we, the Junior Class of '56, look into the future for oar old schoolmates, the Seniors of '56 we find them doing very well Well I wonder who this is we see driving down the road in a 1976 Cadillac with his wife the former Mary Norris Its Eddie Browning Did you know that he is now proprietor at the Midway Bar There goes a school bus, and the driver must be Le Forrest Carter Look he's stopping the bus what forq? To make the boys and girls in the back seats stop smooching we also see one of our old school mates Jerry Conn just getting ready for his opening performance at Carneige Hall He's been taking lesson's on the piano from Liberace We find Bill Crockett who is still living at Rushville, Mo returning from a busy day at De halb High School where he is coach and English teacher Bill is still a bachelor but hoping to marry Nancy soon If it isn't Larry Linville and his wife the former Orvena Frakes, instructing their two little boys Harry, and Carl in what to do as they go on the stage for the last evening performance Larry and Orvena now are running a gambling Casino in Las Vagas Look here's Ronnie Guinn and the former Carol Matthews his wife, flying over dear old De Kalb, in a helicopter throwing out posters advertising the ballgames in which their two sons are going to start Their names are Kenny and Jim Now for a look into the home of the former Rosalie Hiatt now Mrs Mark George, here we find them playing Cops and Robbers with their ten little boys Believe it or not it's Betty Hurst now Mrs Deanie Kiger and their loading up Deanie's little Red wagon with their four sets of twins Here's Dewayne Kuhnert spinning around the park in his little Hot Rod Chev with his wife the former Mary Frazier, and his two little girls Connie and Suzie, they are going to a dance so that he can teach the latest steps to them Always interested in the theater and the movie industry, undoubt edly, Alberta Lockhart will persue her future course in this field Well who is this we hear giving a play by play description of the world series in the year 1976 Its our friend Stanley Morris His wife the former Sharon Borland is home taking care of his six boys and two girls As we look ahead, we see Clinton Now k, as an English professor what's this he's telling his class, 'Children never talk out loud and qu t hitting each other we find Marvin Reese coaching a Grade Basketball team, while his wife the former, Donna Fredericks keeps his five little boys There's a Doctor ready for surgery, its Almeda Ruark She saved two out of twelve people she operated on Well look who's coming down Hollywood and Vine Mrs James Meeks the former Janet Rumpf, now she is doing quite well singing on T V and taking care of her four children Bill, Dan, Charle and Vince Now as we look into the years, we find Clark Sprake and his wife the former Eleanor Lamar riding around town in their 1976 Chev pick up They are trying to keep their seven ooy and five girls quiet in the back Here we find Ronald Stuart on the poster's at Madison Square Garden Tubby is fighting on the 23rd of December for the Championship There's Roger Turpin Sitting in an easy chair in his home in Kentucky with his wife Thelma Queen Roger is very contented as he smokes his pipg and watches his two daughters, Wanda and Cleta. They are so outstanding with their red hair, blue eyes, and freckles. I - L ' 1 .N
