Junior Hislory Our lillle class enlered lhe halls ol D.H.S. in 1949. The ii members were Bruce Lemberger, Lela Humphreys, Janel Parrish. Georgia Landers. Marcia Belshaw. David Key, Wade Nodine. Carol Smilh. Leah Adams. Kay Cummings, and Rose Youngren. During lhe pasl lhree years we losl lhree girls lhrough marriage. lhey were Georgia Landers. Leah Adams. and Rose Youngren. Two members ol lhis class moved away. They were Carol Smilh and David Key. This lell lhe above members plus Frances Harris who enlered lrom Monumenl her Sophomore year. and John Pallon who lranslerred here lhis year from Prineville. Our beginning year in D.H.S. was exciling as lhere were many new changes. This happened lo be lhe lirsl year our grade and high schools were separaled and we had lhe whole high school building lo ourselves. The gymnasium was compleled and we no longer had lo have games and plays in lhe dark old hall. Everybody had a chance lo gel hol lunches al lhe newly inslalled caleleria and we had an enlarged playground. All lhese lhings combined gave us a line slarl. Lasl year was lull ol lhrills as we had an oulslanding loaskelball leam and lwo ol our boys were on lhe lirsl len. Mosl ol our class was slill inlacl and everyone was happy and having lols ol lun. Facully members were Marion L. Hull. Rowena Shroyer, and Mary Banks. This brings us up lo lhe presenl year. When school opened lhis lall we mel and chose lhe lollowing ollicers: Presidenl-Marcia Belshaw. Vice Presidenl-John Pallon. Sec.-Treas.- Frances Harris. We selecled lavender and gold lor our class colors and yellow roses lor our llower. The Juniors are working and planning ahead lo give a very enioyable banquel and prom. We have spenl a lol ol lime selling Chrislmas cards. calces. candy. pop, hol dogs .elc.. lo raise money lor our many venlures. The Junior-Senior play has nol yel been pul inlo produclion bul lhere's no doubl aboul il being a success. especially wilh such oulslanding lalenl lo draw lrom. We inlend lo crack all gale receipl records when our produclion is slaged. All Juniors are now having a good lime and we hope lhal lhe lulure years will bring us as much ioy and happiness as lhe pasl ones in D.H.S.
