Iodie Armstrong Peggy Jamison A friend of Jennifer's and about the same age, but rather more impudent and lively. Mollie Farrell Io Ann Fox Another friend of Ienniferis cut from the same pattern. Lucy Lee Saunders Myrna Parsell Mollie's cousin and guest. About seventeen, she is every inch a girl. She is curled, perfumed, dainty, dimpled, smiling, charming and oh. so very Southern! She is given to clinging to anything masqueline and is, in general, the kind of girl other girls dislike on sight, and boys make fools of themselves over. Bruce Bartlett Dick Comman Iodieis special property, and about eighteen. He is what is sometimes called smooth, Harry Ames Ron Mateer Mollieis boy friend, also about eighteen and perhaps a little less sharp than Bruce. Tom Iackson Dan Brownell The same age as the others, he is shy and presents a most unrepossessing appearance in the opening scenes, but his manner, his voice and his smile are engaging, and there is something very likable about him. During the course of the play he undergoes a thorough change. Randolph Fitzhugh Bill Conn Perhaps a year or so older than the others and extremely good looking. He is subtly different from the other boys, a little more courtly in his manner, much less casual in his clothes. His accent is just as deep-south as Lucy Lee's and he has a way of looking directly into the eyes of the person to whom he is speaking which the girls find most delightful. 57
