SUPERINTENDE NT'S MESSAGE The Destiny That We Seek As we start a most challenging period in the history of Dayton, I think it is appropriate that we consider our foundations of American democracy, realizing and appreciating that here is a form of government that is dedicated and committed to developing within every student the potential for gaining the fruits of freedom. Here then is our obligation to all of our students re- gardless of economic status, background, religion, or color. I feel that this may be brought about in part by in- spired teachers, loving parents, capable statesmen, able craftsmen and professional people by providing new opportunities where none now exist, encouraging the weak and giving proper direction to the strong, by recognizing accomplishment in any degree and striving for a better future for each student through reason and enlightenment. The strength and destiny of our America will de- pend upon the devotion to truth of all of our people and their desire to uphold their obligations as first class citizens. Charles B. Clizer, Superintendent
