SENIOR CLASS PROPI-IECY fContmucdj In Detroit I take the first turn right and follow the broad white avenue to the the vast expanse of beautifully modernistic Gen eral Motors Factories where I know both .Ioan and Barney to be located I drift quietly through the office building and make my xx ay ton ard oans office I must have taken 1 wrong turn for I find myself in an immense echoing hall fairly strewn with tiny engines some run ning others standing still and miles of complicated tracks and switches The walls are adorned with the originals of all the ingenious Forbes inventions At the far end of the room on a curtained stage is the life sized reality of Barneys latest named by its mventor after his favorite poem Prometheus Unbound Presently Barney himself comes out from underneath his pet engine He shows me the way to oan s office And guess who I find there' ' Ginny Bly' And with her she has the most beautiful gadgetful camera We look out the win dow down the five hundred stories of the office building to Lake Ginny has dropped in to see joan on her way to snlp some pictures of the 1950 World s Fair in Tokyo japan After finding that oan com mutes to her Boston home by plane each evening I decide to accom pany her as she is about to leave at this moment After five minutes of comfortable flying we land gently on the roof of her house It is white and very large The garage is even larger than the house and there is a printed sign saying Move in and Live with the Car How typical' After a very pleasant talk followed by dinner I take my leave and go across the street to investigate an extremely odd looking struc ture with an all glass upper floor I knock on the door and am shown in by an indifferent butler The door to the living room opens and there is Cecily It IS grand to see her again and in my delight I ask a million questions all in the same breath We step into .1 skyrocktt a whim of Lils as I am later to Itarnj and before I realize it ue are standing on the glass upptr story fact to fact with the famous unapproachablt Lillian Lang QTh1s physics class partnership stems lllllllil'I'lIlllllllllllllIllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll t .
