Text from Pages 1 - 88 of the 1968 volume:

After many tears, much labor, and sweat, we, the 1967-1968 annual staff, succeeded in bringing order out of chaos; alas in our joy at having completed such a feat we lost all order, and chaos once again prevailed. As you turn through this annual, we hope you will remember this; although our annual is perhaps of a chaotic nature, there was a time when it was set up very orderly. We sincerely hope that you will enjoy the Dawsonian” and consider it a fairly complete record of this wonderful high school year. Chaoticly yours, Your Annual Staff DEDICATION MRS. LORETTA CROWE It is with great honor and admiration that we, the Senior Class of 1967-68, dedicate this annual to our devoted sponsor, Mrs. Loretta Crowe. During the years that you have sponsored us, you have given us a knowledge far greater than that obtained from any textbook. You have shown yourself to be a wonderful teacher and friend to the whole student body. Mrs. Crowe, you have given freely of your time, energy, and abilities and greatly inspired us through our high school years. Now, it is with great pride that we dedicate this annual to you.  ADMINISTRATION ADMINISTRATION SCHOOL BOARD - Left to Right: Mr. Charles Simons, D. Fletcher Holeman, Mr. Robert P. SENIORS IN MEMORIAM DAVE) LEE BARNETT June 11, 1950 - August 24, 1967 AWAY I cannot say, and I will not say That he is dead. He is just away! With a cheery smile and a wave of the hand, He has wandered into an unknown land And left us dreaming how very fair It needs must be, since he lingers there. Mild and gentle, as he was brave. When the sweetest love of his life he gave To simple things; where the violets grew Pure as the eyes they were likened to. Think of him still as the same, I say; He is not dead - he is just - away! GRADUATION GRADUATION DAY It's a time for joy, a time for tears, A time we'll treasure through the years. We'll remember always, Graduation Day. At the Senior Prom we danced till three, And then you gave your heart to me. We'll remember always, Graduation Day. Though we leave in sorrow, all the joys we've known, We can face tomorrow, knowing we'll never walk alone. When the Ivy walls are far behind No matter where our paths may wind, We'll remember always, Graduation Day.
