The Dragons were Quarter-Final Champs for Six-Man Football before losing to the eventual State Champions - Highland -inthe State Semi-Finals. This year's team placed five players in the All-District Team. Offense - 1st team: End - Jesse Rodriguez Center - Scott Miers Running Back - Arthur Hernandez Offense - 2nd team: Kicker - Jesse Rodriguez Defense - 1st team: Middle Line Backer- Jesse Rodriguez Defense - 2nd team: End - Robert Stouth Corner Back - Kevin Coor - Safety - Arthur Hernandez Punter - Arthur Hernandez Arthur Hernandez was also named the All-South Plains Player of the year for the second year in a row. Ending the regular season with a 10-O mark, the Dragons scored 548 points against 229 points made by their opponents. As District Champs, the Dragons then met Trent in Bi-District winning 6318. Advancing to Quarter-Finals, the Dragons squeezed by Gordon with a score of 72-56. Then came the showdown with Highland for the sec- ond year in a row, Expecting another easy victory, the Hornets were surprised by a SWARM of fired-up Dragons, The first half ended with highland ahead by the score of 32-16. The heavy rain in the second half did not cool the Dragons. The Dragons continued to fight, never giving up the game. After a hard-fought battle, the game ended with Highland advancing to the State Finals by the score of 52-86. l'm disappointed that we lost, but l'm not disappointed in the way we played. commented Head Coach Sam Adams, this year's All-South Plains Coach of the Year.
