THE B CC EERS Established and accredited in 1940 as a public junior college, The Dawson County Junior College is a part of the local public school system and offers the first two years of college work to graduates of Dawson County High School and surrounding schools. Each year many of the high school graduates take advantage of the opportunity to begin their college career in their home community. Business Training and general education courses are offered in addition to pre-professional curricula, The College Student Center Building is the headquarters of the DCJC social life, and is equipped for lounging and recreation. This year the BUCCANEERS ended their 20-game schedule with a .650 record against College and Inde- pendent competition, highlighted with trips to Bismarck, North Dakota, and Regina, Sask. Close co-operation is encouraged and enjoyed between the faculty and student body of the high school and the Junior College. LETTER E ,S CLUB The Lettermen's Club is composed of all the athletes that are awarded varsity letters for their participation in the school's three main sports: football, basketball, and track. The sponsoring and putting out of the programs for the ga mes is one of the main duties of this organization. The funds that are raised in this manner are used for any injuries that might be incurred. The initiation of new lettermen was held at the end of the basketball season. Mr. Wilson sponsors this organization. PEP The cheerleaders led our pep assemblies and the cheering at all football and basket- ball games. They attended one out-of- town game at Sidney this year, New uni- forms. bright red jumpers with white satin blouses, were purchased this year, and the gals looked mighty nifty.
