We have done our best to present a true picture of our school at work and at play. If we have succeed- ed in making you see our Alma Mater as we see it, then our memories will all be pleasant ones and we will have suc- cessfully accomplished the task entrusted to us. FRANCES WINCHELL Fran Philans 2, GAA 1, Choir l,2, Cheer- leader 2,3. CLASS HISTCRY Now we are standing on the threshold, the threshold of the future, faced with the decision of what we shall do with our lives. Through the years, in sunshine and rain, we have worked shoulder to shoulder, but now our paths must part. Some of us will go into the stores and offices of our city, others will work along with Dad on the farm, and still others will seek a higher education. It seems only yesterday ..... At last, the big day was here! We scrubbed our faces 'till they shone, donned our best bib and tuCker and set off to high school. That WHS SCPC611'lbCI, 1946, a day we'l1 always remember. Folks made the usual My, aren't the freshmen little this year comments, but nevertheless, our hopes were undimmed. Mickey Haggerty was our president, assisted by Pat Carey, John Manning, and Leroy Dufner. The Red Devils were State Football Champs and the big Victory March along with the Frosh-Soph party highlighted the year for us. Our Sophomore year found us once more hard at work, too busy to keep track of time, yet, we still had fun. Wasn't the Class Party wonderful? With Dean Kampschror at the helm and jim johnson, Marie Erpenbach, and Charlotte Remillard to man the ship, we sailed through the year. With our first two years behind us, we assumed that honored label Upperclassmen . We were now juniors and the memories of initiation, when we, for the first time, were the aggressor, the magazine subscription drive, the Prom, with its old-fashioned garden setting, and the silver footballs, still linger. john Manning, Dean Kampschror, Charlotte Remillard, and Norris Hill were our officers. The year passed all too fast and when fall came, with the dignity befitting seniors, we assumed the seats of honor. Yes, the puny frosh of a short time ago had surely changd. lNorris l-lill, john Currens, Donna Venn, and Dick Bergland were elected to lead us down the last mile. School had barely begun when work on the annual was launched. Soon, too, we were canvassing the town with Christmas cards. The Follies, the State Championship Game and the gold footballs, Kid's Day, the class play Home Sweet Homicide, and the Hop were written down in gold in our little book, Memories. Then, in befitting climax of our joys and tribulations, Senior Week, our week, dawned. Who will ever forget Bacca- laureate, the banquet, class night, and then that long anticipated day when we donned caps and gowns and proudly marched down the aisle ..... Then, through the haze of reminiscing, we heard our names. We rose slowly to our feet and went forward to receive our diplomas, the key to our futures. Will we, the class of '50, as we add our names to the annals of DCI-IS, be a credit to our alma mater? Only time will tell. fd , E , ,. ,LLL..
