There were many contributing factors. We began the year with an outstanding football season, with record breaking performances on the field and in spectator attendance, and this success continued in a similar manner throughout the other sports seasons. Then came spirit week sponsored by the ninth grade and featuring a red and white dress up day contest, a spirit poster contest, the sale of red and white hats, and, climaxing the week, a spirit rally. But leading and influencing all these events was a great desire on the part of the stu- dent body to make Dawnwood a school we can be proud of: a school where students and faculty alike share a desire to set and meet high standards, academically, ethically, and socially. z 1. gs, S2-rx . I .M I On behalf of the student body of Dawnwood Junior High School, we wish to dedicate this part of Orbit '68 to Mrs. Menefee to thank her for her outstanding spirit and concern for the students of our school. Mrs. Menefee has been a constant supporter of all Dawn- wood sports and activities. She has been the guiding light behind our cheerleading squad. She has been a great and wonderful teacher to many of us. She has always been the epitome of spirit at Dawn- wood and consequently we wish to thank her for her time, effort, and sincerity. Dedicaiion We have dedicated this part of Orbit '68 to Mr. Farley because of his outstanding dedication to Dawnwood Junior High School and its student body. He has constantly and selflessly contributed his time and services to make this a better place in which to learn to become better citizens. We, the students of Dawnwood, wish to express our appreciation and respect for him, our assistant principal. gliuilv 4 I ' riff' . jx xv' 5 .'N 19' -X I Q5 . ' -I-.' . .,,-. '.' 1 X.-,5 5 L. .a.
