Glau Jlulamf The most spontaneous class 1n many a year, started its tour of dtty 1n Davlson ln the fall of 1950 We gave Mr Collins more trouble 1U one year than most cbasses do 1D four vears Mr Ulenkhorn, tre glrls' heart throb, was elected class snonsor The class offlcers were Pon Parlni, Presldent, Dat Youngs, Vlce Presldent, Hugh Hosler, Secretary, Bob D1pZ1DSk1, Treasurer were set back a llttle by the sophomores on 1n1t1at1on day, but bounced back and went to the annual party that nlgnt We sbonsored the usual number of dances alter games We also gave the sopho mores a return party at whlch they beat us 1n a basketball game An engoyable last day was scent at Flint Dark We started tne sophomore year with a bang by placlng more nlayers on the football team than all the other classes put to gether Mrs Agre was elected class sponsor, and the officers were Ken flnto, Uresldent, Dorls Cottrell, V1ce DTESld8Ut, Maxlne Bentley, Secretary, and Sally Blrd, Treasurer On n1t1a tlon day the ounky freshmen lasted only ten mlnutes as the adminlstratlon called lt off because we were too rough for them We had llttle trouble nresentlng Hwynken, Blynken, and Nod , our talent show, which was very successful We handled our allotment of dances after the football and basketball games The glrls won the county champlonshlb ln basketball wlth almost an all sophomore llneun We ordered our class rlngs 1U the snrlng and flnished the We were already runnlng the school, but our nower 1ncreased when we became gunlors Mr 41tCH6l1 was chosen soonsor after a very close ace Bob WCM1Ch391 was elected Presldent B111 Mcfonnell, V1ce Presldent, Al Less, Secretary, and Sally Blrd, Treasurer Two of the class merbers, d Boyce and Bob D1DZiUSk1 were h nored by belng nlcked for the all ounty football team We floated aroxnd the school for a comnle o days after the class rings arrlved We put on the Junlor Dlay, January Thaw , dlrected by Mr Mltchell, asslsted by Mlss Dorrlan veedless to say, lt was a real smccess Anrll 1U P3TlS was the theme of the J Hop, the gyn be1ng decorated as a Darlslan street cafe, featurlng Johnny Vauch and hls orchestra We were host to the senlors at the Junlor Senlor Dinner Dance After a good dlnner and a message from Rev utton, we trioped the llght fantastlc ln the gyn Vernon Ireland, nrobably the best baseball player ln many a year at Davlson, led the cornty league 1U indlvldual standlngs We agaln soent the last day of school at Walled Lake O . 1 . . .
