Nw iory he history of the Seniors of '52 is 8XC1tlDg and acinating We can easily say we've hai our share of fun In September, l9b8 we began our career as Freshmen wlth M suchan as our sponsor Our class officers were President, Dick Robinson, Vice President, Al Tho pson Secretary, Joan Hohn, Treasurer, Norma Davis As freshmen we thought we were tops But then came the t1me when we were pushed down a peg We were init1ated by the Sophomores Most of us didn't think we would make it through the day but we all managed to attend the very nice party that night sponsored by the Sophomores in our honor Our class party of the year was a Christmas party when we exchanged gifts A few months later we returned the Sophomores hospitality by giving them a party Durmng the year we sponsored a few dances after the football and basketball games Our Sophomore year began in September, l9h9 Again we chose Mr Buchan as our sponsor r class officers this year were President, Prank Hosler, Vice President, Dick Crafts Secretary, Shirley Wheeler Treasurer, Delores Dipzinski The first event of the year was the lnitiation of the Freshmen We took care of them, you can be sure of that Then came our successful talent show After much discussion we decided to use the theme of a Hayride as the sett1ng Again we sponsored some dances after the football and basketball games We left the best until the last ordering our class rings Our successful Sophomore year came to a close with a picnic at Walled Lake Now we could look forward to our Junior year We became the Juniors of D H S in September 1950 how we were really the big wheels At least we thought so anyway We had an extremely busy and profitable year with Miss Judd 88 our sponsor Our class officers were President, Pat Thurau Vice President, Dick Crafts,Secretary, Joan Hohn, Treasurer, Marjorie Read The first and one of the biggest events of the year was the arrival of our class rings As usual we sponsored several dances The second semester we took Sitter under the direction of Miss Judd and Miss Dorrian It was a tremenlous SS sxccess March 30 we transformed the gym into The Isle of Dreams This was the theme of our J Hop The gay and beautifully dressed couples danced to the music of Rob Maybaum's Orchestra May 25 was the day set aside for our dinner dance when we entertained the seniors A short program was pre sented before moving into the gym for dancing Fun was had by all with a very enjoyable day at Walled Lake we finished our year as Juniors and then became the mighty Seniors of Davison High This being our last year, we decided to do things so that even after we were gone Davison High would always remember us Our class officers were President, Bob Ellsworth, Vice President, Fred Fortune, Secretary, Al Thompson, Treasurer, Barbara Bernson At this point in our high school days we became salesmen putting to use some of the knowledge Mr Mitchell had tried to pound into our heads We began selling magazines, stationery, Christmas cards, and annuals Successful we were, too Then came the day, the boys wearing suits and the girls all dressed up in their Sunday best You guessed it Powell s, well known photographers came to take our pictures Then in December there were sighs, oh s, and ah's when our pictures arrived They were quite flatterlng, but remember they say pictures never lie Our Senior play Men Are Like Streetcars was a huge success It was directed by M Collins and Mrs Diehl On May 25 we boarded the S S South American in Detroit which took us up Lake Huron to Mackinac Island into Lake Michigan to Chicago and then back to Holland Here a very tired group of students, we boarded our school buses which brought us back to our beloved D H S to prepare for our week of graduation The week began with the Juniors presenting us with a dinner dance given on May 29 Then we entertained the entire school body by presenting class day on June 5 June 8 was the night of Baccalaureate UV, graduation shouldn't be a sad affair, but there was pain in our hearts when the final night arrived when we received our diplomas, we held our heads high and we were proud that we had made the grade This night June 12, was a night of celebration, and celebrate we did He had much to look forward to beczuse we were about to step out into the world as the men and women of tomorrow 1ll 20 i as Fri o . . . Ou over the selling of candy, potatoe chips, and popcorn. In February we produced our play HThe' Baby ll , , . on , . . . I I - a I n N ' 1 . , . . I S
