The 42 Gridirdn SeCISOI1 began with the greatest en- thusiasm on the part of Coach Emery's Wildcats. They pos- sessed that never-give-in spirit for which Tech is known. On the practice tield they were whipped into shape, ready to compete with all on-corners. The team opened the season by defeating the Godwin eleven to the tune of 28-O. The battle with Catholic was con- sidered one of the most outstanding displays of fighting spirit witnessed in the city during the entire season. The game with South was one of the most decisive victories scored against that team in a number ot years. The tally at the end of the season stood at three 'ns, four losses, and one tie. Although the Wildcats sulflgred some setbacks during the season, they did not show the slightest indication of discour- agement but only practiced and played harder. The excellent sportsmanship ot the players and the loyalty of the student body enabled Tech to put up a good iight throughout the season. The team voted Ed. Dubiel the most valuable player. He also won a berth on the All-City Team, as did Fred Fairchild, Brinky Nawara, and Don Nixon. Nawara was captain ot the team. X ' -al- FIRST ROW F Strek, M. Quay, T. Iarmulowski, B. Nelson, R.
