Herman Holmberg was chosen to be one of the first teachers of Davis Tech. He was selected from a great number of applicants because of his reputation as an upstanding, honest man, his influ- ence among boys in Boy Scout Work, and because he was one of the best designers and furniture Workers in the city of Grand Rapids. He has proven in his long connection with the school that his repu- tation Was not exaggerated. His influence upon the many boys who have come in contact with him has been to the great advantage of everyone. Mr. Holmberg is not only looked up to by the students and faculty of the school, but men in industry respect his judgment on boys for their plants. He has been an untiring Worker for the good of the school and has never failed to respond when asked to do Work that would further the interest of any boy or girl in the city, Whether connected with our school or some other school. In the resignation of Mr. Holmberg, the Davis Vocational and Technical High School loses one of its most valued teachers, one that We all shall miss. We can never find a man that has all of the personal 'and professional qualities that Mr. Holmberg has. He has lived a full life and has been able to maintain his good nature under all conditions. It is the Wish of the faculty and students of Davis Tech that Mr. Holmberg live many years to enjoy life and continue in his service to boys and girls outside of school.
