4 -,,.-- f The class of 1943 is leaving school to enter upon a very serious job. In all probability all of you will either be in the Armed Forces or be doing war work before another annual is published. The faculty and the principal trust that they have instilled in you a desire to do your part for your country, to be honest in all of your endeavors, and to always remember that the country does not owe you any- thing but that you owe the country everything. We sincerely hope that you will fulfill your obligations and when this War is over you will come back to take yourrightful place in the industrial and civic life of the city of Grand Rapids. May your efforts be crowned with success and may you be spared to help in the reconstruction of America after the War. Our best Wishes go with you Wherever you go. GEORGE B. FRAZEE, IR. PRINCIPAL Never in the history of the school has Q graduating class been called upon to face the problems that the class of 1943 will be called upon to face. Most of the boys will serve in the armed forces of our country. The girls will go into factories and be called upon to take the places of the boys who are already in service. I feel sure that you will all be more than Willing to do your share. I know we will be proud of each and every one. My sincerest wishes for your success and safety.
