The dash men who did excepfionally well are Johnson and Zimmerman, while in ihe hurdles Vonk and Bosscher showed up bes'I'. The +wo shoi' pu++ers Masiewicz and Oailey placed in every meei. In fhe 880, Soboia and Budzynski, l'he only fwo in ihe squad gave compelifion a new name as far as 'I'he oiher schools are concerned. Righf along side of ihe 880 men are Vander Kaay, Vander Werf, and Dubiel, who did amazingly well in fhe 440. These games included Sparla, who scored l'he four runs, Cedar Springs, and Sand Lake. The 'ream had only +hree refurning leHermen, Nixon, Piper, and Wildorowslci, who form +he nucleus of fhe Wildcal nine. The cafching is handled well by Gamble and Ploeg, wi'rh Nixon, Piper, Hailc, and Saganski holding down l'irs+ base, second base, shor'r sfop, and fhird base, respecfively. The ouffield is composed of Fairchild, Hicks, and Rulledge, wifh mound dufies being ably handled by Buquef and Wilcforowski. The games wi+h Soufh and Cresfon were losl', buf all ofher games played before +his wrifing, fhose wifh Cenfral, Cafholic, and Chrisfian have been won by +he Wildca+s. Tech had bu+ +o win in +he final playoffs which will include +he four firs+ division +eams and Coach Emery's nine can 'fuck anofher championship under 'rheir bel'rs.

Since fhen an average of fen would-be Bobby Joneses have compefed for fhe privilege of represenfing Tech on fhe fee-off. One feam of pasf years successfully survived fhe cify compefifion and enfered fhe sfafe finals, where fhey upheld Tech fradi- fion superbly. Preliminary gym pracfice is concerned wifh fhe use of fhe driver only. Of special imporfance is a snap or fwisf of fhe wrisf which spanlcs fhe ball and gives if added disfance. Sfance and a relaxed posfure also aid efficiency. Nexf come acfual frials on a regular course. Lawrence Kozminski, Roberf Mulvey, James Kooi, and Roberf Burch were chosen as fhe parficipanfs in fhe I94l foursome. Golf is encouraged as a school sporf nof only for fhe recreafional advanfages and menfal relaxafion, buf also because if affords excellenf opporfunifies fo exhibif fine sporfsmanship and fair play. Perhaps none of our golfers will ever win fhe Nafional Open Championship: never- fheless, we believe we have an excellenf body of amafeurs of whom fhe school has reason fo be proud.
