iunior class history We, fhe class of '42, are happy fo have as our advisors Miss Davenporf and Mr. Hafz. The presenf officers of fhe class are, presidenf, Roberf Mulveyg vice- presidenf, John Walker: secrefary, Grace Pasma, and freasurer, Rufh Nielson. One of fhe main evenfs of fhis school year was fhe Thanksgiving Day Assem- bly presenfed by fhe iuniors. Roberf Mulvey, class presidenf, in a very pafriofic and sfimulafing address said, We should all be proud fo be Americans. We should be fhankful for fhe fhings our forefafhers did in fhe making of our counfry and should fake up fhe gavel where fhey leff off, seriously and prayerfully fo make fhis democrafic governmenf a vifal, dynamic force -fhe kind of govern- menf, which fhey, our forefafhers, had in mind. ln closing, Roberf emphasized fhe values which have been woven info our governmenf and said if was up fo fhe army of sfudenfs fo uphold fhose principles laid down by our Pilgrim Fafhers and fo give fhanks fo Him who inspired such a herifage. The monfh of May sfands ouf big as fhe gala fime of fhe year because of fhe Junior-Senior Prom. This year fhe Prom, wifh ifs professional decorafors, was an evenf long-fo-be-remembered. Parfy favors, dazzling girls, scinfillafing lighfs, special dance acfs and skifs - fhaf was fhe Prom. As sophomores we had charge of fhe Armisfice Day Assembly. Dr. Voelker, presidenf of fhe Grand Rapids Universify, fhe guesf speaker, made a very insfruc- five and very inferesfing address. During fhe sophomore year we were so vofe-conscious fhaf we even used a vofing machine. The following officers were elecfed: presidenf, Roberf Burch: vice-presidenf, John Walker, secrefary, Virginia Bohr: and freasurer, Violef Kalinowski. As fresh, keen, green youngsfers, we came fo Tech. We knew very few people and oh, how shy! When fhe fime for elecfion came around, however, we were on fhe iob. We elecfed John Danhof as presidenfg John Walker, vice-presi- denfg Mary Jane De Wiff, secrefaryg and Grace Pasma, freasurer. H' was fhey who sfarfed fhe class off wifh a bang-fhe repufafion which all ofher class officers have been forced fo mainfain. As freshmen we had charge of fhe Armisfice Day Assembly. Breaking fhe regular fradifion of having an oufside speaker, sfudenfs from fhe class were chosen fo give fhe addresses. The speakers were so enfhusiasfic and fhe audience lisfened so affenfively fhaf one could hear a pin drop. When fhe fime came for Virginia Bohr fo sing God Bless America lumps had arisen in fhe fhroafs of all. Mr. Frazee commenfed on fhe program saying fhaf if was one of fhe besf ever given. We bid farewell fo fhe presenf senior class - we wish you luck, prosperify, healfh, and fame. We frusf you will always be faifhful and loyal fo nof only your Alma Mafer buf also 'ro yourselves. Thus, we are assured you will be worfhy fo carry fhe banner of Davis Technical High wherever you go and fhaf you will be honored American cifizens.
