This request was heard by the 1985-86 Student Council twice a month, every month during the school year. Residing at the head table was the executive council: Mark Nelson - Presi- dent, Ienifer Quesenberry - Vice Presi- dent, Stephanie Acker - Secretary, Ierrad Burford - Treasurer, and Amy Halley - Student Director of Activities. Mr. Ousdahl was often found at the end of this table supervising each meeting. During every meeting items of importance to the school were introduced by the president for discussion by the council. Striving to keep Davis on top was one of many different goals for the student leaders. Among the many tasks the council decided to take up was the idea of promoting staffappreciation. As school began in the fall, a staff breakfast teachers was held to start off the new year. The breakfast was a great success. The staff really thought it was fantastic, commented Vice President Ienifer Quesenberry. As the year progressed, the staff members found that they each had a secret pal sending them gifts to let them know someone cared about their service to the school. Showing the staff that you know and care that they are there really makes a difference, said advisor Scott Ousdahl. The council also was effective in promoting school campus pride, giving dances, organizing the talent show, and providing a variety of assemblies. The school year was an enjoyable experience with people trying to make Davis a better place to be, commented Matthew Hansen, Senior Class Representative. - Amy Halley
