Miraculously the year has come to an end and the product of our efforts is now before us.There were often times when I questioned the completion of this book. Our seven month production period was filled with brainstorming sessions, short tempers, long-term headaches, compromises, short-lived arguments and still more brainstorming. It was our theme of Breaking Traditions that caused all the problems. We wanted to illustrate diversity, something different from the rest. Ideas were at first slow in coming, but once we got going there was no stopping us. For some of us, ideas didn't materialize until we were taking a shower, in the middle of taking a test, or on our way to school. Ididn't care how we received the ideas just as long as we got them. Our concept of separating the book into seasons made deadlines an interesting experience. Sports, class pictures, clubs and the like had to be divided among the four sections while the division pages had to fall in just the right places to receive the lowest price for spot color. Our pursuit to break traditions, needless to say, sometimes left us wanting to break someone's neck. To add to our early frustrations, we decided to employ the use of the school's typesetter, enabling us to set our own copy. Much thanks to Dionn Martin and Sydni Minder who spent their yearbook time mastering the typesetting machine and producing all the copy that exists in this bookg your hours of work and stiff fingers were irreplaceable. Good luck to next year's staff should they decide to use this machine again. Creation of pages finally began and questions from the staff came pouring in, I thank Mrs. I-Iogue for having the answers in the many instances that I didn't. The manufacturing of the Olympian was a hardened task this year due to the smallness of the class: 17 people. Because of this more weight was distributed among everyone making all our lives a little more hectic. Long hours after school and on weekends were necessary, thanks to ATKLT some of our work was accomplished over the phone. As our first deadline was met I prayed that our shipment wouldn't somehow get lost in route to Iostens. The arrival of proofs lessened my hysterical worrying and proved to be rewarding for we saw our first finished pages. Although meticulously read and re-read, there were still some mistakes. We proved the fact that no one is perfect. The rest is history. Along the way we used a few of our alotted late days but managed to get the book in on time. What a relief! I thank all of those who dedicated themselves to the production of this annual. Special thanks to jennifer Warden, sports editor, and Michele Remsing, senior editor, who lessened the task of editing, and Kiki Tzagarakis who kept our photo assignments in perfect order. As can been seen, you all did a great job. You now hold the dreams of 17 Davis students, treat this book with care for we put our hearts and souls into this edition. Enjoy and good luck in the future. - Licia Pope Editor-in-Chief 'rv A Dfmlnkr 1 1 Adi BRE KING Kia E32 f thanks... is ins Fdrrfm., our mmmfatrae .ffm .Emails fafwugs szgatffiiffe flfliflffti mins. wsgifiis mmumgxam msgs and iufamwfmft ...gavgwegaaiiaf wx sdmitfmww www.
