0 Cardiac kids rejuvenated The nerve-racking varsity team added a few gray hairs to coach Denis France's collection. Led by three year varsity starter Craig Orona and Scott the rope C-uptill, the team squeaked by numerous opponents. France often commented that the team was out to give him a heart attack. A typical Davis game came down to the wire, won by a two or three point margin. Aggressive play by point guard Brad Zwahlen often sparked late-in- the-game rallies by the Spartans and the consistency of the Orona-Guptill duo kept the team close during dry spells. Rounding out the starting line-up were Shane Harmon, with his red shots, and second year starter Mark Nelson. Off the bench came twin Paul Nelson, Eric Dixon, Allan Hodge and Anthony torpedo Woods. With Harmon, Allan Davis, Nelson and Orona injured part of the season, Woods and Paul Nelson saw much action. The spians gain acclaim On the scene at Davis High School, students witnessed the arrival of new theater teacher Karen Lotko. Wasting no time she was determined to make the Davis Theater Company a success. Mrs. Lotko called together all Thespians from the previous year: Sharon Draper, M'lissa Hayes, Garth Brooks, Clint Dunbar and Shane Wright. The group held club elections and named Dunbar president and Wright vice-president. Shortly after the meeting it was decided the Davis Theater Company would present Agatha Christie's Mousetrap. The play was an enormous success, having sell-out crowds every night. Not one person went away feeling dissatisfied with the classic Who Dunnit. But, could they top it? Well, director Lotlco was going to try. She decided to present You Can? Take it With You, a comedy. The Theater Club and its participants have definitely earned the respect and acclaim of their peers, according to Lotko. - Clint Dunbar
