Art lovers in action Art Club started another successful year with a turn out of over 20 members. Suzy Savage, president, planned many fundraisers including selling Easter cards and showing videos at lunch time. Members also designed and printed shirts for the dance program. And they traveled to various elementary schools showing art techniques to the children. Art Club's big trip was to San Francisco. They also visited local museums including Leonards Art Space, Great Valley Museum as well as art featured at Modesto junior College. Suzy commented on their goal, We plan to have lots of fun and be a successful club. Working during a Wednesday meeting, Stacia Robinson reaches her arm across the table for a tool to complete her art project. Art by Doug lust. Ski Club members listen-at meeting. Skiers find Heavenl With the onset of winter and snow, Ski Club had a large turnout. Skiers of all levels joined the group and enjoyed a season of great skiing. The club took trips to Kirkwood and Bear Valley with adventurous skiers going on an over-nighter to Heavenly Valley. To help pay for their skiing excursions, members sold candy. German Club member, Matt Glidden, focuses his attention to the discussion of the trip to Peta's German Restaurant. French Club: KFRONT ROW? Languages flourish N With a growing membership, 60 members compared to 1984-1985's 30 members, French Club members were very enthusiastic. In addition to the trip taken to San Francisco, the club participated in various fundraisers, some of which included working at the concession stand, selling Valentine's Day buttons, and making a French cookbook. According to Iune Blanc, French Club president, the main purpose of the club was to gain more cultural experiences that a French class can't provide. Other officers included Manjeet Singh, vice-presidentg Lisa Townsend, treasurer, and Marievita Ilog, secretary. German restaurants, celebrating a German-style Christmas party, and an end of the year swim party were activities German Club participated in. The main trip planned was to Peta's German Restaurant in Stockton where there was a variety ofauthentic German food to sample. When asked about the enthusiasm of members, President Mike Lopez stated, The general attitude is very healthy.
