I- ocaw----H COLLEEN WI-IALEY Colleen Whaley has been ice skating for two years at the Oak Park Ice Arena in Stockton. About starting to skate, she stated, We went up there for fun when I was older, and I loved it so much I just started skating all the time. Colleen has gained many friends through ice skating. She was inspired by Rosalyn Sumners and Io Io Starbuck. She has competed in various competitions placing second, third or fourth in the different events. Colleen stated, It's a dangerous sport, but someday I would like to turn pro. - Teri Bracken ERIC CORGIAT Water polo is a very demanding sport, requiring many long hours of grueling practice. It also takes natural ability and patience to improve consistently. Eric Corgiat, the only sophomore on the varsity water polo team, has survived the hard practices and demonstrated his talent. In his freshman year, Eric participated in a competitive sport for the first time: water polo. Eric also competed in swimming to stay in shape. Eric excelled in water polo and played for the summer team. The team traveled to Hawaii for one week to oppose teams from all over the United States. Eric has many future ambitions including swimming or playing water polo for a college. He even toys with the idea of participating in the Olympics. Eric said he would also like to tackle a career as an electronic or aeronautic engineer, a professional athlete or a law enforcement officer. - Ienifer Quesenberry

NEW WAVE began with a boom. The motherlson team of advisor and president seemed to work extremely well. Shane Harmon and his mother, Lynn Darpinian, conduct an important meeting telling members and parents of their many spirited events. Activities included a tail-gate party, a barn dance, Christmas caroling, and arousing spirit at the games. SCIENCE CLUB activies included a slide show on Halley's Comet presented by MIC instructor William Luebke and a field trip to the coast to see the elephant seals.
