- 'ram niwzaons was-f --------------- Initiation Party It has long been the custom of our school for the Sophomores to extend the hand of welcome to our Freshmen. This year the annual in- itiation party was held on September 20th. The innocent and unsuspecting Freshmen were first ushered into our Beauty Shoppe. Here they were powdered and massaged, but not with, the usual cosmetics. They were then conducted through the Palace of Honors, amid the agonized groans of its victims. The guests were next taken to the upper floor, where after further administration they were officially declared members of the Davis High School. As a suitable climax for the evening, refreshments were served at nine-thirty. ELMER LESTIKOW. Freshman Treasure Hunt The Freshmen gave their first party November 8th, 1927. A new feature of this being a treasure hunt. The treasures were hidden in various parts of the town and a great interest was taken in finding them. After this the whole body returned to the school for refreshments. While prep- arations were made for the lunch most of us enjoyed music, songs, games, etc. Some of the boys opened a new organization called The Bachelor's Club, the regulations of which being very strict. After the refreshments were served the party came to a close and most of us made for the loop of Davis. Much serenading took place on the way home from the party, featuring My Wild Irish Rose. KE NDALL BRADLEY. Magazine Sale The magazine sale which is carried on annually by our school was held in the latter part of September this year. The school handling the publications of the Crowell Publishing Company. The student salesmen selling subscriptions for The American, Collier's , The Mentor, The Ladies' Home Journal, and Farm and Fireside. In order to make the salesmen more interested and to create a spirit of competition, sides were chosen, the reds, the greens and the blues, Individual rewards were given to the leading salesmen, while, thanks to the patronage of the people, the campaign netted the school a substantial profit. ELMER LESTIKOW.
