THE DAVHNQES : ' Freshman Class History N September 6th, 1927, six Eighth Grade graduates from the Davis School enrolled in the Freshman class. They were Marian Mench, Helen Mench, Willie Brault, Kendall Bradley, Fern Meinert, and Irma Anderson. On the same day we were more than glad to have three other good mates enroll in our class, making a total of nine members. They were Florence Horstmeier, Epleyanna District No. 303 Elmer Lapp, Henze District No. 285 and Josephine Henderson, of Petersburg, Wisconsin. Shortly after school opened our class was organized .The following oflicers were elected: President, Helen Mench, Vice President, Marion Mench, Secretary and Treasurer, Kendall Bradley, Class Sponsor, Miss Bloem. We selected for our class colors, red and white, and rose as our class flower. After several days' discussion we agreed to have as our class motto: 4 us 2B2 is to B natural. Class dues on a monthly basis were decided upon. About three weeks after school we attended our first party of the year, the initiation party. Although we considered ourselves very ill-treated, we agreed that we were well fed. In the latter part of November we were disappointed in having Josephine quit school. Several of us have been on the honor roll a number of times. We have all studied hard this year and are looking forward to a pleasant school future. HELEN MENCH. -- Ql . IIb -- Honor Roll The following names are those who have appeared on the Honor Roll at least once during the year: Jason Afllerbaugh, Alvin DeGunther, Edwin Gunderson, Lucile Meier, Gladys Walter, Milton Benning, Elmer Lestikow, Arlene Meier, Verna Tielkemeier, Kendall Bradley, Florence Horstmeier, Fern Meinert, Marian Mench and Helen Mench.
