THE DAVHNQHS Junior Class History N August 31, 1925, six Eighth Grade students enrolled as Freshmen in the Davis High School, namely, Ruth Eberly, Viola Nath, Lucile Meier, Jason Aiflerbaugh, Alvin DeGunther, and Edwin Gunderson. To our sorrow The Initiation was held shortly after enrollment. In a few days the little class of six was organized. For the flower we chose the Carnation, class colors, pink and white, and motto, Dig, The Freshman year was a prosperous and happy one, but there was one disappointment that we plainly remember, and that was the loss of one of our classmates, Ruth Eberly. On August 25, 1926, these same ones returned, but now we were Sophomores. September 6, 1927, a sextette composed of the same members as the preceding year and a new member, Gladys Walter, enrolled as Juniors. The class was organized and the following officers chosen: President, Viola Nath, Vice President, Gladys Walter, and Secretary and Treasurer, Lucile Meier. Our flower is still the carnation, our colors, pink and white, and our motto, Dig, We, the Juniors, have answered our motto, and are looking forward to graduation. LUCILE MEIER. Sophomore Class History N SEPTEMBER of the year 1926, nine Freshmen enrolled as members of the Davis High School. Within a month the class was initiated, its officers elected, and Mr. Bradley chosen as our class adviser. A few months after school started John Lentz entered school which made the enrollment of five girls and five boys. John, however, after a few weeks of study dropped out, again placing the boys in the minority, but the arrival of Jake Kneubuehl again brought the count to five and five. In the latter part of the year the class presented the play Go Slow, Mary. When 'September again rolled around we found, to our sorrow, that two of our classmates had fallen by the way. Both Rose Schurch and Milton Otte failed to put in an appearance. The class, which was organized in September, chose as its officers: President, Zelma DeGunther, Vice President, Jake Kneubuehl, Secretary and Treasurer, Elmer Lestikow, Faculty Adviser, Miss Williams. It is interesting to note that of the eleven members who have at some time or other enrolled as members of the class, all at the time of registra- tion, were the same age. ELMER LESTIKOW.
