qiqiiqi i -,,n,, Kneeling, Left to Right, SN Brummitt, SK2 Anderson, MS2 Quintino, SK2 Stewart, ET2 Collier, BTFR Serra, MMFA Walker, STGSN Coffill Back, SHSN Carpenter, MMFN Lucas, SK1 Williams, SN Ferguson, SHSN Pulver, SH3 Webb, MS2 Grayson, MS3 Brooks, MS1 Wargo, MS3 Asbill, DK1 Henson, SN Roman, MSSA Berry, SH2 Jones, SH1 Tucker, BTFA Rye, HTFA Mcleod, MSSA Hobbs . get , SUPPLY - DEPARTMENT The Supply Department includes four different ratings: Storekeepers, Ship Servicemen, Mess Management Specialists and Disbursing Clerks While it is one of the smallest departments on board it supplies a large range of services necessary to keep the DAVIS steaming The SK s stock 14000 repair parts and are responsible for obtaining whatever part it requires to keep all machinery and equipment going The SH s operate the ship s store laundry barber shop and vending machine The MS s keep the crew fed Underway the galley gang feeds the crew three full meals a day plus a midnight snack and does its own baking The DK s maintain the pay records for the crew and hold payday twice a month All four rates have enormous amounts of paperwork and recordkeeping to do as well as providing personal service to their shipmates for problems ranging from pay to parts They also take care of a large number of cramped storerooms vltal to keeping the ship supplied During this deployment flexibility was a distinguishing element of the supply department The DKs held a payday before entering every port The SK s provided CASREP asslstanoe 24 hours a day while the SH s were always ready to give a haircut at an odd hour or do a last minute press Job on a uniform The MS s prepared every sort of meal from a formal luncheon for a foreign b am assador to Thanksgiving Dinner to a 2 AM hot chocolate and sweet roll snack for a tired cold crew after a late mght refueling They also provided some excellent Asroc deck picnics to li elp break up the daily grind of Indian Ocean operations Whatever was required the Supply , . o 0 0 0 7 , . , . . . . . .
