The HM's are responsible for the I health and general welfare of all crewmembers. They conduct sick call, present medical training lectures, and maintain on-board sanitation standards. 1 The Yeomen are responsible ,for the efficient functioning ofthe shipls office. They prepare and route all incoming and outgoing ship s correspondence, maintain all officerls service records and keep files of instructions, notices, and publications. The PostalClerks operate the ship s post office. During the deployment, these men ,J had what was Widely considered to be the most important job on the ship. The PN's maintain ship's personnel records and handle all administrative' matters pertaining to enlisted men including checking-in of newly-reported men, transfers, courses and advancement exams, discharges, and leave. The QM's E are charged with thesafe navigation of the ship.
