I IRD DIVISIGN M Third Division is made up Of ASROC Gunnerls Mates QGMTSJ, Sonar Technicians CST'G'SJ, and Torpedomen CTM'Sj. These men are responsible for the manning and maintenance of the Antisubmarine Warfare fASWJ equipment aboard Davigg sonars, 4 torpedoes and antisubmarine rockets. Should the ship engage a hostile submarine the STG'S would detect and track it using sonar. After the submarine is discovered the ship is cmaneuvered to enable the GMT,S and TM'S to attack it. The primary antisubmarine weapon is the long range homing torpedo fired from pneumatic torpedo tubes or as the warhead of an antisubmarine rocket, 'or ASROC. OC DIVISION OC Division is comprised of Radiomen and Signalmen. These men handle the external communications of the ship. By voice, teletype and morse code the Radiomen talk to naval communications stations thousands of miles away as Well as to nearby ships. The Signalmen take care of the ship's visual communieations-semaphore, flag hoist and flashing light.
