JOHNSON 3 DEVTSTON There are over 30 Boiler Technicians CBT'sJ assigned to the shipis 2 fire rooms, Bravo One and Bravo Three. Together with the Machinist Mates of M Division they are responsible for the shipls mobility and are collectively known as the 'fSnipes . Boiler Technicians maintain, operate and repair the ship's 4 1200-PSI boilers. In addition to the boilers, the BTQS take care of the ship's fuel oil service pumps, forced draft blowers, and feed Water system, all of which combine to supply fuel, air, and water to the boilers. The boilers use these ingredients to produce the high temperature, high pressure steam which operates the ship's machinery. The BT,s Worked long, hard hours in the fire rooms but the result was an exceptionally fine steaming record during the cruise. it-Q BTI DAVID R. BARENTINE BTI JOHN W, BEELES BT2 LEWIS N. FINNEY .
